How do I get tattooed?
Begin by scheduling a consultation with one of our artists. We recommend bringing reference images to discuss your ideas. During this meeting, you'll explore size, placement, color, and other design elements. Our artist will then create a custom design tailored to your preferences. To initiate your project and secure an appointment, a $100 deposit is required. This deposit is applied to your final price and covers design time. Please note that deposits are non-refundable, and we require 24-hour notice for rescheduling to avoid the need for a new deposit. On the day of your appointment, please arrive promptly. What should I do on the day of my appointment?
Prior to your appointment, ensure you've had a substantial meal as tattooing can be physically demanding. You're welcome to bring one companion for support, but we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing large groups due to space limitations and to maintain a conducive environment. Please note that pets are not permitted in our studio. All clients must be 18 years or older to receive a tattoo. While we do accept walk-ins based on availability, larger projects typically require scheduled appointments. Our pricing begins at $100, with hourly rates varying by artist. We encourage you to call for a consultation to discuss your specific tattoo project. What is a keloid?
A keloid is characterized by an excessive growth of scar tissue, primarily composed of collagen. It often appears as a thick, red, and hardened area that may cause discomfort or itching. Keloids can develop following various skin traumas, including burns, piercings, or injuries. It's crucial to note that treatment for keloids should always be under the guidance of a medical professional. We strongly advise against attempting home remedies or relying on online advice for keloid treatment. What is a granuloma?
Granulomas are small, inflamed nodules that commonly occur around piercings. These formations serve to isolate bacteria or foreign substances and may secrete clear lymph fluid. They can be caused by factors such as low-quality jewelry, excessive friction, or improper aftercare. While granulomas are generally treatable, it's essential to consult with your piercer before initiating any treatment. It's important to distinguish granulomas from keloids or hypertrophic scars, as they require different approaches to management.Should I use piercing guns ("pistols")?
We strongly advise against the use of piercing guns, also known as "pistols". These devices cannot be properly sterilized, which significantly increases the risk of infection. Additionally, they can cause substantial tissue trauma due to their impact-based mechanism. The force applied can result in asymmetrical piercings and improper angles. For your safety and optimal results, we recommend always choosing a professional who employs sterile, safe piercing methods using appropriate tools. Why is the Snake Eyes piercing risky?
The Snake Eyes piercing, which involves a horizontal piercing through the tongue, poses several significant risks. This piercing can severely restrict tongue muscle movement and potentially damage important veins. Furthermore, it increases the likelihood of dental damage, including chipped teeth and enamel erosion. The tongue is composed of multiple muscles that typically move independently. A horizontal piercing effectively locks these muscles together, impeding natural tongue function. Additionally, the jewelry is in constant contact with the teeth, which can lead to dental complications. Due to these risks, the Snake Eyes piercing is considered highly dangerous and is not recommended. How do I get my first piercing?
To obtain your first piercing, start by selecting your desired location and thoroughly researching reputable professionals in your area. It's crucial to choose a piercer who utilizes properly sterilized equipment, including an autoclave, and high-quality jewelry. We recommend titanium jewelry for its biocompatibility. Once you've had your piercing done, it's essential to strictly adhere to all aftercare instructions provided. Regular follow-up appointments are also important to monitor the healing process and address any concerns that may arise. How old do I need to be to get tattooed?
In accordance with California law, individuals must be at least 18 years old to receive a tattoo. We require a valid, government-issued identification document to verify age. It's important to note that California legislation prohibits tattooing minors under any circumstances, including situations where parental consent is provided. We strictly adhere to these regulations and cannot make any exceptions. What is the cost of a tattoo?
